International day of the girl child

November 10 @ 8:00 am Free

In recognition of the International Day of the Girl Child, observed annually on October 11, FEHD Foundation will organize an advocacy and community engagement event focused on promoting the rights, wellbeing, and empowerment of girls while strengthening collective action toward gender equality and social inclusion.

The event will provide a platform to address critical issues affecting girls, including access to quality education, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), personal safety, leadership development, and the elimination of harmful practices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), child marriage, and gender-based discrimination. Through interactive sessions, community dialogue, and edutainment-based approaches, participants will be empowered with knowledge, life skills, and positive values that encourage informed decision-making and responsible citizenship.

Community members, parents, educators, youth leaders, and key stakeholders will be engaged to strengthen the role of families, schools, and community systems in protecting the rights and dignity of the girl child. The event aims to build sustainable partnerships, promote inclusive policies, and inspire long-term community-driven strategies that support girls to thrive, lead, and reach their full potential.
